Coinbase Wallet introduces short custom address support

Coinbase Wallet users can now send cryptocurrencies to short, human-readable ones the adresses. The service also supports Ethereum Name Service (ENS) addresses and allows you to send cryptocurrencies to .eth addresses.

“We believe that these improvements will greatly simplify the use of cryptocurrency and facilitate its implementation to a wider audience,” – said Coinbase Wallet CEO Sid Coelho Prabhu.

To send a cryptocurrency, you only need to know the nickname of the wallet user, for example “@walletfan”, and use it as an address. Short user names do not replace the standard 16-digit wallet addresses, but instead work on top of an ordinary address.
